What is Roku?

Roku plugs into your TV using an HDMI cable connected from your TV to the Roku device. Roku connects to the internet via a wired or wireless connection to your network.


Gallery on TV is a Roku app designed to display your self-hosted Gallery (Gallery now Gallery the Revival) as screen saver using RSS feed.

Gallery on TV is also a great free open-source digital signage alternative.



Self-hosted Gallery

Gallery is open source web based photo album organizer. Download and install to your self-hosted server. Here is one such instance as a default setup.

Most web hosting providers have pre-configured installer. Use one if available in your cPanel or other dashboard your may have. Softaculous is one such installer/library.

Gallery on TV Roku Channel

Go to official Roku Channel Store and search for Gallery on TV to install it on your Roku device.



Upload image(s) to your self hosted gallery or greate an album to get a RSS feed.

Open Gallery on TV on your Roku device.

Follow instructions and connect to your Gallery by replacing default RSS feed URL with the one from your Gallery.

Restart Gallery on TV and wait until screen saver initiates. You can change this setting on your Roku device.
